On May 15th, 2012, my wife and I welcomed our first baby, Hudson, into this world. We're young parents (24 & 25), and being the first of our immediate friends to have children, we felt inclined to take charge of Hudson's educational future. With the convenient access to internet and social media, it opens up multiple opportunities for parents to discuss neighborhoods, schools, organizations, etc. to find a fit for you and your family. This is how I stumbled across Dallas Kids First!
Molly and I were both raised in DISD schools and are huge advocates of the Dallas public school system. We currently live in Little Forest Hills and up until a couple months ago, had never given much thought to the schools in our district. I was very happy to discover DKF and know that it's not too early to get involved in supporting Hudson's future education. The first step to maintaining and improving our public schools is to ensure the right leaders are elected to the School Board. This is where we, as a community can make a real difference. As a new dad and a local business owner, this effort really hit home for me. I look forward to helping spread the word and will keep you posted about what's going on, on my end, in East Dallas.
